Abstract
Research demonstrates the relevance of mental images in the learning process. Following a succession of previous studies, we wanted to find out the relation between the autovaluation of mental image acuity, (measured by performance tests), and the creative ability with students' school achievement in secondary education. In order to do this, a sample consisting of 273 students in the first course of non-compulsory secondary education was selected. This group was administered different tests of image acuity, as well as a test of creative ability. Information regarding their school achievements in Science, Language and Literature, and Fine Arts was also collated. The image acuity test results coincided significantly with the results of school tests. Regression analysis showed that mental acuity tests explain a higher variance percentage in the shool results
