Abstract
abordan la RE, ya sea de forma directa con los/as jóvenes, a través de sus progenitores o ambos;
Emotion regulation (ER) has been shown to be a transdiagnostic factor at the base of different mental health problems, including emotional and behavioral problems. For this reason, numerous interventions address it from an early age, specially transdiagnostic interventions, which focus specifically on this factor. Due to this, the main objectives of this review are: to explore the characteristics of programs that include ER as an intervention component for externalizing and/or internalizing problems in childhood or adolescence; to evaluate the scope of the effectiveness of these programs and to analyze which components of ER are central in interventions based on transdiagnosis in childhood/adolescence. After analyzing the results of the selected studies, it is concluded that: (1) there are different types of interventions that address ER, either directly with young people, through their parents or both; (2) regardless of its approach, the work on ER seems to be beneficial in intervening on these problems; (3) although transdiagnostic interventions seem to have some additional benefits; and (4) it is advisable to also intervene, from multicomponent interventions, on the parents and the school, the main external socializing agents
