Matemáticas y Música en contextos de inclusión

Abstract

En este trabajo se presenta una experiencia que integra matemáticas y música llevada a cabo con adolescentes en riesgo de exclusión social. El objetivo general se centra en la idea de incentivar el estímulo matemático, más que el refuerzo a través de actividades motivadoras para el alumnado. La experiencia se inicia presentando a los chicos y chicas una serie de instrumentos del mundo con los que deben diseñar e interpretar una melodía en compás binario. Con esto, Surge de forma natural la idea de unidad de medida, la probabilidad y la combinatoria. Desde esta perspectiva, el estimulo hace que las emociones y las creencias hacia las matemáticas se modifiquen y abran una puerta para poder trabajar luego contenidos matemáticos reglados.

In this paper, we present an experience involving both mathematics and music. This experience has been carried out with teenagers in risk of social exclusion. The main goal of the work is not focused on the reinforcement by means of motivating activities for students, but on the idea of increasing their mathematical stimulus. The experience begins with the presentation of several musical instruments coming from different parts of the world. The students have to use them in order to design and play a melody in binary compass. This activity makes arise the idea of measurement unit, the probability and combinatorial. From this point of view, the stimulus modifies both emotions and mathematical thinks of the students, and this fact allows the later work on academic mathematical contents.
