Abstract
The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of five educational experiences in natural environment in a subject of the mention in Physical Education, taught in the Faculty of Teacher Training in the University of Santiago de Compostela (Lugo, Galicia), on social goals of students graduated in Primary School Teacher with this mention. The sample consisted of 39 subjects, of whom 18 (46.2%) were women and 21 (53.8%) were men, aged 21 to 28 (M = 22.62; SD =1.73). An adaptation of Social Goal Scale in Physical Education Classes (SGS-PE) was used to collect the information. The results of the statistical analysis show that before the intervention program there were not statistically significant differences according to gender neither in responsibility (p = 0.417) nor in relation (p = 0.252), although women scored higher. After the program, the mean score of both variables increased in both sexes, reaching enough statistical significance in the relationship variable in the case of men. The overall values increase in all studied constructs, although they do not reach the sufficient statistical significance. In view of the results, this should be taken into account in the initial training of future Physical Education teachers, since a teaching-learning program based on students’ work causes that they worry about being responsible, respecting established social norms and having the illusion to establish good relations with their classmates, essential for a good atmosphere in the classroom
