Proceso de toma de decisión y dinámicas sociales de grupos de estudiantes universitarios en la discusión sobre un problema sociocientífico abierto

Abstract

En este artículo se analizan las discusiones orales producidas a lo largo del proceso de toma de decisión acerca de un problema ambiental abierto, en tres grupos de estudiantes universitarios. Se ha estudiado el proceso de toma de decisión seguido y las dinámicas sociales producidas en los grupos y cómo han afectado estas dinámicas al proceso. Es de destacar el proceso seguido por un grupo en el que las alumnas son capaces de construir un criterio que en principio no está en los datos que disponen, y de adoptar este criterio como el principal en su decisión. Esto lleva a varios de sus miembros a cambiar de opinión, hecho poco frecuente. Para esto puede haber sido clave la dinámica del grupo, en la que partiendo de discrepancias importantes, han discutido sus posturas de forma argumentada, lo que ha contribuido a que utilicen y construyan más criteriosIn this article we analyze the oral discussions taken during the decision making process about an open socioscientific issue, in three university level student groups. We have studied the decision making process and the social interactions produced in the groups, and how these interactions conditioned the process. It is noticeable the process of one of the groups, in which students have been able to construct a criterion that is not evident from the available information, and to adopt that criterion as the most important one. This makes some of the members of the group change their mind, which constitutes an unusual fact. We think that the social interactions in this group have been determinant, thay have started having different opinions and have been able to discuss them using justified arguments, which has helped them use and construct more criteria
