Abstract

Tras el desmembramiento del Imperio Romano el horizonte artístico de este amplio territorio muestra dos líneas divergentes. Por un lado, la Europa Occidental, donde el vacío artístico se impone, frente al mundo oriental que mantendrá la herencia grecolatina sumando a ella nuevas propuestas. Este lenguaje artístico llegará a Occidente en diversas ocasiones a lo largo de toda la Edad Media. En estos momentos de encuentro el mundo occidental adoptará y adaptará unas propuestas artísticas que resultarán siempre enormemente enriquecedoras. Uno de los primeros puntos de aproximación entre ambas culturas se producirá en la Italia del siglo VI.After the fall of the Roman Empire, the art in this wide territory shows two divergent lines.
