Abstract

The purpose of this paper ls to demonstrate the formal and semantic regularity of the so-called "Beschädigungssomatismen" (BE-SO), which are found as often in German as in Spanish. The capacity to produce models ("Modellierbarkeit") of these BE-SO can be observed in a twofold manner: (a) lntralingually, in relation to an existing regularity between the level of internal form and its constituents and the level of idiomatic meaning. In German and Spanish, when studied on an individual basis, these conceptual-structural models have been observed. lnterlingually, there are conceptual-structural models which are already present in both languages. The most important convergences appear at conceptua! level and functional semantics - The fundamental aim of our research centres around one of the conceptual-structural models in Spanish, with internal forms and idiomatic meaning equivalent to the BE-SO of the corresponding German model. This is made up of a series of derived lexemes. These are reflexive verbs derived from a noun indicating a part of the human using the prefix "des-" and like its BE-SO German equivalents, with an idiomatic meaning.
