Abstract
[GAL]
[ENG] Within the list of trees which make up the outstanding dendrological catalogues, it is necessary to point up, concerning its number and quality, the amount of oak trees, which are more abundant in the monumental lists than in the exceptional ones and, which constitute the examples and groups which are well-known in Galicia. In both inventories, something that draws attention and it is worth noticing, is the significant contribution given by the province of Lugo, which concentrates in its territorial geography a considerable part of its most qualified representations all over the country. But within the patrimony of prestigious oak trees, considering their entity, two of them are due to be mentioned: the oak tree of Saint Margarida chapel/Pontevedra and the monumental oak tree from O Pelete/A Lama, main subjects of this lecture. Their history, their culture, their botany and their life, studied and investigated in detail, each one having its own project of work, have monograph books which discover, describe and value the quercus in their worlds.
