Abstract
El objetivo de este trabajo ha sido determinar las características de la evolución y desarrollo
actual de los temas transversales en educación, considerándolos básicamente como importantes cuestiones
de carácter social, fuertemente influyentes en la formación global del alumno. De manera específica, se trata
de clarificar el nivel de preparación y dedicación del profesorado y los centros escolares para la enseñanza de
los mismos. Para ello se han analizado disposiciones legislativas en nuestro país (leyes orgánicas y decretos
de currículo), así como aportaciones de destacados pedagogos, instituciones e investigadores. Se han analizado
las características de los temas transversales en el proyecto educativo y en la programación docente,
en su desarrollo en el aula y en su proyección fuera de la misma, a través de la colaboración de la familia y
la comunidad. A partir del análisis realizado se derivan conclusiones sobre su estado actual (posibilidades y
límites) y se realizan propuestas de futuro relativas a la mejora de la formación inicial y permanente del profesorado,
al incremento de sus tareas colegiadas/ cooperativas en la planificación, intervención y evaluación,
al incremento de medios y del asesoramiento en su utilización y a la necesidad de mejorar la comunicación
y colaboración con las familias y con otras instituciones de la comunidad
The aim of this study was to determine the characteristics of the evolution and current development of transversal themes in education, considering them basically as important social cuestions with great influence in the overall education of the student. Specifically it seeks to clarify the level of preparation and dedication of teachers and schools to teach them. To do this, legislation used in our country (organics laws and decrees curriculum) were analyzed and also the contribution of outstanding educators, institutions and researchers. We analyzed the characteristics of transversal themes in the educational project and the teaching program, its development in the clasroom and its projection out of it through the help of family and community. Conclusions about their current status (possibilities and limitations) are derived and future proposals are made on the improvement of initial and ongoing training of teachers, to increase their collegiate or cooperative work of planning, intervention and evaluation, increased media and counseling in use, the need for increased communication and collaboration with families and other community institutions
