Vitalidad, diversidad y cambio en el léxico del gallego rural del siglo XX

Abstract

El propósito de este trabajo es mostrar el valor informativo de los datos de los atlas lingüísticos para describir y conocer las variedades rurales habladas en Galicia en el siglo XX. El análisis de seis variables léxicas en los materiales del Atlas Lingüístico de la Península Ibérica (ALPI) y del Atlas Lingüístico Galego (ALGa) permite conocer el sentido de los cambios lingüísticos y las consecuencias del contacto de lenguas en Galicia. Los resultados obtenidos de la comparación de la información geolingüística se ponen en relación con los cambios demográficos y sociales ocurridos en la sociedad gallega entre el primer y el último tercio del siglo pasado.The aim of this work is to show the informative value of the data in linguistic atlases to discover and understand varieties of rural speech in 20th century Galicia. The analysis of six lexical variables in the materials of the Atlas Lingüístico de la Península Ibérica (ALPI) and the Atlas Lingüístico Galego (ALGa) allow us to uncover the nature of linguistic changes and the consequences of language contact in Galicia. The results obtained from comparing geolinguistic information are contrasted with the demographic and social changes that occurred in Galician society in the first and last thirds of the past century.
