Abstract
The term ADHD, initials of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, a neurodevelopment disorder originated in childhood, is more and more present in the classrooms of Primary Education and, however, not all teachers have the training enough to respond to this type of problems and respond to the needs of students. The objective of this study is to analyze the formation of educational specialist in Physical Education in relation to the attention to diversity and, in particular, in students with ADHD. There take part in this study 14 educational specialists from 14 centres (public and charter) of the urban area of the city of Santiago de Compostela, which offers Primary Education, using an Ad Hoc questionnaire as a data collection tool. The results show us deficiencies in teacher training in the area of attention to diversity, pointed at those more experienced professionals and, therefore, belonging to old plans of study leading to the degree of teacher in Primary Education. While the scope of attention to diversity is very spacious and the formative matters in the plan of university studies are very limited, it is necessary a plan of continual training, recycling and self-education by Physical Education specialists, aspect that will improve the intervention of them in the classroom with students who present special educational needs.
