Abstract
The debate on public versus private education is still alive in this country. In practice, both public and private education constitute a representative model of our school organisation, although the financial side is largely public. On the fringes of this debate, we face the challenge of preparing the citizens for new social models emerging from the digitalised society. Presumably as a consequence of its structure, this society will tend to produce levelling socio-economic effects, which means that the information society demands responses from educational organisation. From this standpoint, the article puts forward a number of proposals, some ostensibly paradoxical and others essential, which call for comprehensive debate
