O turismo na Praia das Catedrais

Abstract

[GAL] A Praia das Catedrais, localizada en Ribadeo (Galicia, España), é un dos espazos naturais mais paradigmáticos de Galicia. Nos últimos anos o número de visitantes incrementouse notablemente, o que supón un problema para a súa conservación e desfrute. Nesta publicación analízanse en primeiro lugar a oferta e a demanda turística a diferentes escalas territoriais (parroquia, municipio, xeodestino, provincia e Comunidade Autónoma). A continuación, preséntase un estudo das estratexias de promoción e comercialización que levaron a este enclave a se converter nunha icona turística de Galicia. Por primeira vez ofrécese unha hipótese sobre o número real de visitantes na praia das Catedrais e a súa distribución mensual, acompañada dunha previsión de evolución futura. Ademais este estudo identifica atraccións turísticas internacionais nas que se teñen implantado estratexias de xestión de capacidade de carga. No Anexo preséntanse os primeiros resultados dunha enquisa sobre o perfil do visitante, aínda en desenvolvemento. Finalmente, o estudo remata cunha serie de conclusións que resumen as características deste Monumento Natural como fenómeno turístico.[ENG] As Catedrais beach, located in Ribadeo (Galicia, Spain), is one of the most paradigmatic natural areas of Galicia. Over the last years the number of visitors has greatly increased and that poses a problem for its preservation and enjoyment. In this publication, we first analyze the tourism demand and supply on different territorial scales (parish, municipality, geo-destination, province and autonomous region). This is followed by a study of promotion and marketing strategies that have led this area to become a tourist icon of Galicia. We offer for the first time a hypothesis about the real number of visitors to As Catedrais beach and their monthly distribution, accompanied by a forecast of future evolution. Furthermore, this study identifies some international tourist attractions, which have implemented carrying capacity management strategies. In the Annex we present the first results of a survey about visitor profile, which is still in development. Finally, we end with some conclusions that summarize the features of this natural monument as a tourist phenomenon.
