Abstract
Carlos Serrano es un escritor español de novela histórica que ha publicado varias obras, entre ellas, El camino enterrado. El argumento de este libro es la reconstrucción del Camino de Santiago antes del cristianismo, y las ideas centrales son el priscilianismo, la descristianización de la Edad Media y la negación del Camino de Santiago cristiano y de la tumba del Apóstol. Este estudio tiene como objetivo analizar las intenciones y argumentaciones de Carlos Serrano; para ello, nos centraremos en reconocer su argumentario, sus bases ideológicas y la operación conceptual que intenta el autor al ficcionar la parte histórica de la novela y crear una “novela de la novela”
Carlos Serrano is a Spanish novelist who has published several works, including El camino enterrado (The Underground Way). The theme of the book is a reconstruction of the Camino de Santiago before Christianity and the central ideas are Priscillianism, the de-Christianisation of the Middle Ages and the decline of the Christian Camino de Santiago (Way of St James) and the tomb of the Apostle. The aim of this study is to analyse Carlos Serrano’s intentions and arguments. To do so, we will focus on identifying his argument, his ideological bases and the conceptual operation with which the author attempts to fictionalise the historical part of the novel and create a ‘novel of the novel’
