Abstract
[GL] A Teoría do Caos é a rama das matemáticas que estuda o comportamento e evolución de
sistemas dinámicos caóticos, nos cales resulta moi complicado predecir o comportamento
futuro do sistema.
Ao longo deste traballo presentaremos as definicións básicas e veremos algúns dos resultados máis relevantes no referente ao caos, así como veremos algúns exemplos clásicos
de caos: a función loxística e o atractor de Hénon (sistemas discretos) e os atractores de
Lorenz e de Rössler (sistemas continuos).
[EN] Chaos theory is the branch of mathematics that studies the behaviour and evolution of chaotic dynamical systems, in which it is very difficult to predict the future behaviour of the system. Throughout this dissertation we will present the basic definitions and we will see some of the most relevant results concerning chaos, as well as some classical examples of chaos: the logistic function and the Hénon attractor (discrete systems) and the Lorenz and Rössler attractors (continuous systems).
