La promoción de juegos populares y tradicionales: de los centros educativos al servicio municipal de deportes. El caso de Boiro

Abstract

El deporte se ha convertido en uno de los fenómenos sociales más importantes de la sociedad actual, siendo demandado cada vez más por un mayor número de personas. Los ayuntamientos, grandes protagonistas del deporte, se muestran como los verdaderos impulsores de una práctica que hoy en día es más universal que nunca. Los juegos populares y tradicionales juegan un papel importante en la programación ofertada por la administración local y el hecho de que en Boiro siga vigente la práctica del juego de bolos hace que sea objeto de un análisis más profundo. El objetivo de esta investigación es estudiar el papel que juega el Servicio Municipal de Deportes del ayuntamiento de Boiro en la promoción del juego de bolos y analizar las relaciones existentes en esta gestión entre el grupo de políticos (Alcaldes y Concejales de Deportes) que rigen el gobierno municipal y los Técnicos del área de deportes. Se recurre a técnicas cualitativas para la obtención de datos, utilizando la entrevista personal como principal herramienta. Los resultados encontrados nos indican que el Servicio Municipal de Deportes del Ayuntamiento de Boiro es un importante promotor de actividad físico-deportiva, que en sus prioridades está la recuperación y promoción de las tradiciones mediante la organización de escuelas deportivas, torneos y competiciones, siendo los centros educativos el principal foco de incidencia de este trabajo. Los poderes públicos deben preservar las tradiciones, pues al final lo que están haciendo es mantener viva la historia y cultura del propio puebloThe sport has become undoubtedly one of the most important social phenomena in today’s society and it´s demanded more and more by a greater number of people. Councils, big protagonists of the sport, are shown as the real drivers of a practice that today it´s more universal than ever. Popular and traditional games played an important role in the programming offered by the local administration and the fact that the practice of skirttles´s game remains current in Boiro makes it subject to more in-depth analysis. The objective of this research is to study the role played by the Municipal Service of Sports of the Boiro´s city in the promotion of the skittles´s game and analyze the relationships in this management among the group of politicians (Mayors and Councillors in sports) that govern the City Government and the sports area technicians. We use qualitative techniques for data collection, using the personal interview as the main tool. Result found indicates that the Municipal Service of Sports of the Town Hall of Boiro is a major promoter of physical activity, which in its priorities is the recovery and promotion of traditions through the organization of sports schools, tournaments and competitions, schools being the main focus of incidence of this work. Public Authorities must preserve the traditions, because in the end what they are doing is to keep alive the history and culture of the people
