Abstract
For the detailed study of the Mystical Monarchy by fray Lorenzo de Zamora, researchers of Humanism in Spain in the 16th and 17th centuries have focused until now on the First Part, out of the eight that the total project consisted of. There is a recently edited critical edition, that has made it possible to observe the breadth and density of its references to classical and patristic authors. This paper focuses on the Second Part, still without a modern edition: I edit and study the references, about fifty, on Plato and his work. Fray Lorenzo de Zamora resorts to various sources, both the direct reading of the Platonic dialogues, probably in Latin translation, and indirect references, from ancient anthologies and more modern reference works, to access Platonic thought and transmit it critically, theorizing about its compatibility with Christianity.
