Abstract
[GAL]
[ENG] Despite the positive population trends of common forest birds, consistent with the current increase in tree cover, species closely linked to this habitat continue to decline or do not show a clear recovery. Adjust the minimun size and morphology of the stands, preserving semi-primary forests and oak stands, maintain long-lived trees and favor the existente of dead wood in proper condition to provide food and shelter to the birds are several of the more frequently guidelimes proponed to help populations recovery. In this paper we review some of the morphological, dasometric and age characteristics, as wel as some management strategies, wich, in the opinión of the outhors consulted, should be considered for favor forest bird populations, either in protected natural areas or posuing the insertion of conservation within the perspective of the harvesting benefits.
