Leer el mundo hoy o cuando la lectura se convierte en diálogo

Abstract

El mundo necesita ser leído e interpretado con un triple propósito: contribuir a un mayor y mejor conocimiento de sus realidades cotidianas, diacrónica y sincrónicamente; activar procesos de cambio que permitan transformarlo, poniendo énfasis en valores e iniciativas congruentes con el desarrollo humano y el respeto a la vida en toda su diversidad; finalmente, promover prácticas educativas donde la lectura participe de sus enseñanzas, democratizando saberes y aprendizajes. Asumiendo que no hay educación con sentido y de los sentidos sin la lectura, el texto que presentamos construye su discurso en una doble perspectiva: en primer término, la que invoca el valor de las palabras y el leer como un quehacer formativo de amplios recorridos pedagógicos y sociales; en segundo lugar, la que ofrece parte de las respuestas dadas, a través de una indagación colectiva, por personas con diversos perfiles científicos, académicos y profesionales a una pregunta: ¿qué es leer el mundo hoy? Un interrogante que converge con el foro de lecturas “Ler o mundo hoxe…” iniciado en la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, con el apoyo de la Red Internacional de Universidades Lectoras (RIUL), como un tiempo y un espacio para darse a la escucha, a la lectura, al diálogo

The world needs to be read and interpreted with a triple purpose. Firstly, by diachronically and synchronically contributing to a greater knowledge of its everyday realities. Secondly, by activating processes of change. Thus, enabling us to transform it, by emphasising values and initiatives which are congruent with human development along with respect for life in all its diversity and complexity. Finally, to promote educational practices in which reading is part of its teaching there by democratizing knowledges and learnings. Assuming that there is neither meaningful education nor education of the senses without reading, this paper builds its discourse on a double perspective. The one invoking – beyond praising and asserting – the value of words and the reading act itself as a training activity containing broad pedagogical and social road. And the one offering a part of the answers given by means of a collective inquiry carried out by people of different scientific, academic and professional profiles so as to respond to one particular question: What does reading the world today mean? This question converges with the Galician reading forum “Ler o mundo hoxe…” which commenced at the University of Santiago de Compostela, enjoying the support of the Network of Reading Universities, as a time and space for people to dedicate themselves to listening, reading and to dialogue
