Abstract
As a result of a case study in the Region of Murcia (Spain), this paper carries out a multivariate analysis of the job satisfaction of home delivery drivers through digital platforms (riders). The aim is to establish whether there are differences between their two main work modalities (salaried and self-employed) and which are the factors in which they differ the most in relation to satisfaction with their work modality. The results allow us to conclude that for salaried employees and the self-employed, job satisfaction is explained by different factors. The analysis also allowed us to identify five factors related to the job satisfaction of the riders: Commitment to the company, Job welfare/good working environment, Risk and support, Difficulty and hardness of the work and Corporate image. Self-employed and salaried riders share three of these variables: Well-being/good working environment, Commitment to the company and Difficulty and hardness of the rider’s job.
