dc.description.abstractNo seu comentario ao noso artigo recente “Promoting fluvial geomorphology to ‘live with rivers’ in the Anthropocene Era” (García et al., 2021), Dave Rosgen (2021) suxire que formulamos tres afirmacións erróneas sobre el e sobre o seu protocolo técnico Natural Channel Design (NCD). Nesta resposta contextualizamos e abordamos os seus comentarios, analizando as críticas recorrentes realizadas nas últimas décadas ao NCD. Ao facelo, tratamos cuestións como o coñecemento científico e técnico, a necesidade de adaptarse aos avances da ciencia e das técnicas, a necesidade de comprender as lagoas inherentes presentes nos protocolos técnicos e que é e que non é unha ferramenta de clasificación, así como a liña estreita que separa a ciencia da ética.
