La rapidité dans Les drames brefs de Philippe Minyana

Abstract

Speed is an aspect of literary time rarely addressed by literary theories. This article deals with the speed of brevity in Philippe Minyana’s short dramas. Philippe Minyana wrote Drames brefs (1) in 1995, and Drames brefs (2) in 1997. In rhetorical tradition conciseness is associated with speed. However, this series of short dramas gives rise to an impression of complex speed. At the same time that there is a prevailing impression of speed, desired by their author, there is also a sense of slowness. The analysis of these plays shows that rapid speed is mainly due to the brevity of the sentences, the abundance of breaks and the absence of links between the sentences, which correspond to the temporality of the text. Instead, the speed of the environments, the situations, the themes and the actions shown, which are an aspect of temporality within the text, evoke a repetitive world, and an impression of slowness.La velocidad es un aspecto del tiempo literario poco abordado por las teorías literarias. Este artículo trata la velocidad de lo breve en los dramas cortos de Philippe Minyana, que escribió Drames brefs (1) en 1995, y Drames brefs (2) en 1997. Lo conciso está asociado por la tradición retórica a la rapidez. Sin embargo, esta serie de dramas breves dan lugar a una impresión de velocidad compleja. Al mismo tiempo que producen una impresión dominante de rapidez, deseada por su autor, suscitan igualmente una sensación de lentitud. El análisis de estas obras muestra que la rapidez se debe principalmente a la brevedad de las frases, la abundancia de rupturas y la ausencia de nexos de relación entre las frases, que corresponden a la temporalidad del texto. En cambio, la velocidad de los ambientes y las situaciones, los temas y las acciones mostradas, que son un aspecto de la temporalidad dentro del texto, evocan mundo repetitivo y una impresión de lentitud.
