Abstract
Neste artigo aténdese a centralidade da historia e da reflexión sobre a historia en Estirpe, libro de poemas publicado en 1994 por Xosé Luís Méndez Ferrín. Sostense que o núcleo fundamental do pensado sobre a historia por Méndez Ferrín cobra presenza en Estirpe, motivo polo cal a súa análise pode contribuír a un mellor entendemento da poética do autor na súa totalidade. O estudo non fica limitado por tanto á produción poética ferriniana, senón que procura unha ampliación cara á obra narrativa, ensaística, crítica e xornalística. A metodoloxía aplicada conxuga elementos propios da socioloxía da literatura con outros tomados da análise do dialoxismo e o discurso alleo por parte do círculo Bakhtín e das propostas de Walter Benjamin sobre a historia, a alegoría, a montaxe e a imaxe dialéctica. Resulta igualmente produtiva a atención aos desenvolvementos do materialismo histórico e ao debate sobre a autonomía da arte e a literatura. Trátase de aspectos centrais na configuración por parte de Méndez Ferrín dunha posición crítica perante a historia e a literatura, e en prol da emancipación nacional da Galiza.
This article deals with the centrality of history and the reflection on history in Estirpe, a book of poems published in 1994 by Xosé Luís Méndez Ferrín. It is argued that the fundamental core of Méndez Ferrín’s thinking about history is present in Estirpe, which is why its analysis is able to contribute to a better understanding of the author’s poetics as a whole. The study is therefore not limited to Ferrín’s poetic work, but also looks at his narrative, essayistic, critical and journalistic work. The methodology applied combines elements of the sociology of literature with others taken from the analysis of dialogism and alien discourse by the Bakhtin Circle and Walter Benjamin’s proposals on history, allegory, montage and the dialectical image. Equally productive is the attention to the developments of historical materialism and the debate on the autonomy of art and literature. These are central aspects in Méndez Ferrín’s configuration of a critical position towards history and literature, and in favor of the national emancipation of Galicia.
