Matorrales de Galicia: tojales y brezales. Conservación y gestión

Abstract

[ESP] Se presenta la variedad de tojales y brezales de Galicia, analizando aspectos ecológicos de utilidad para establecer bases de gestión. La organización estructural de las comunidades maduras, y su modificación por intervención humana, especialmente fuego, permite establecer su periodicidad y pertinencia. Los cambios que dicha intervención produce a nivel de las especies leñosas más características también resultan de interés para interpretar su abundancia, y para abordar planes de restauración y/o conservación.[ENG] This works presents the variability of gorse and heath shrublands in Galicia, by analyzing useful ecological aspects to establish the guidelines for their management. The structure of mature communities and their modification by human intervention, mainly through fire, allow the establishment of their peridiocity and pertinence. Changes caused by this intervention upon the most characteristic woody species are also interesting for the interpretation of their abundance and for carrying out restauration and/or conservation plans.
