A practical Example for the Use of AGFL in the Automatic Syntactic Analysis of Spanish

Abstract

With the information derived from a corpus based verbal database developed at the University of Santiago de Compostela, we propose a preliminary way of codification of verb valency and subcategorization in the lexicon of an AGFL grammar as a safe way to face syntactic clause analysis with a more pure and simple AGFL syntax. An example is given with the verb “abandonar” about how to extract and simplify the information obtained from the database, and how to code and process it with an AGFL grammar.
