Abstract
Endorracism, or the internalized racism experienced by individuals who are the targets of prejudice and racist behaviors, is an essential element of modern racism as a systemic phenomenon. It also represents an obstacle to effective intercultural education. This paper presents a systematic review of how the concept of endoracism has been addressed in educational research over the past 25 years. A total of 31 publications from Dialnet, Google Scholar, ERIC, Scopus, and WoS were analyzed. The specific scientific literature on the term is scarce and tends to focus more on diagnosing the issue than on proposing educational interventions to address it. The predominant methodological approach is qualitative, and the theoretical and conceptual frameworks differ between the Anglo-Saxon and Ibero-American contexts. A theoretical and conceptual convergence is recommended, along with an increase in research focused on the topic from a critical, anti-racist intercultural perspective that also involves the majority society.
