Abstract

This thesis investigates the synthesis, characterisation, and magnetic behaviour of novel metal complexes incorporating fullerene-functionalised ligands. The primary goal is to assess their potential for spin-crossover (SCO) and single-ion magnet (SIM) applications. Central to this study is the exploration of how ligand modifications influence magnetic properties, as well as the encapsulation of these complexes within single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) to develop advanced functional materials.
