Cicatrices Invisibles. El impacto del Maltrato Infantil en las conductas suicidas y el papel de las variables mediadoras

Abstract

El Maltrato Infantil (MI) hace referencia a todo tipo de abuso o negligencia que afecte a cualquier niño o adolescente menor de edad y se clasifica en 4 tipos principales: abuso sexual, emocional, físico y negligencia. Esta circunstancia traumática conlleva numerosos efectos adversos en los ámbitos cognitivo, físico, conductual, emocional y social; las conductas suicidas constituyen una de las consecuencias más graves derivadas del MI. En el presente trabajo se llevó a cabo una revisión bibliográfica con un doble objetivo: analizar la relación entre el MI y las conductas suicidas, e identificar posibles variables mediadoras en esta relación. Los resultados reflejaron que la asociación entre el MI y las conductas suicidas es significativa, aunque en algunas ocasiones la vinculación entre ambos fenómenos se explica, total o parcialmente, por distintas variables mediadoras. A este respecto, la literatura ha identificado distintas variables que se pueden clasificar en factores de riesgo y factores de protección; a su vez, estos factores pueden dividirse en dos subgrupos: personales y psicosociales. Por último, basándose en los fundamentos de la Terapia Dialéctica Conductual para Adolescentes (TDC-A), y teniendo en cuenta las variables relevantes detectadas en la revisión, se realizó una propuesta de intervención con el fin de disminuir tanto las conductas suicidas como el impacto del trauma derivado del MIChild Maltreatment (CM) refers to any form of abuse or neglect that affects a child or adolescent under the age of 18 and is classified into four main types: sexual, emotional, and physical abuse, as well as neglect. The present study conducted a literature review with a dual objective: to analyze the relationship between CM and suicidal behaviors and to identify the potential mediating variables in this association. The findings indicated that the connection between CM and suicidal behaviors is significant; however, in some cases, this relationship is fully or partially explained by different mediating variables. In this regard, the literature has identified various variables that can be categorized into risk and protective factors, which in turn can be further classified as either personal or psychosocial. Finally, based on the principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents (DBT-A) and considering the relevant variables identified in the review, an intervention proposal was developed with the aim of reducing both suicidal behaviors and the impact of trauma resulting from CM
