Rasgos identitarios y patrimonio cultural de la emigración gallega. Aproximación a las implicaciones educativas

Abstract

Los movimientos migratorios implican un intercambio cultural entre personas y realidades territoriales diversas. Estos flujos influyen en el patrimonio cultural intangible y en la identidad de las personas que emigran y en la de las que residen en el país de destino. En este proceso, la educación es una de las herramientas más poderosas para fomentar la salvaguarda del patrimonio inmaterial y contribuir a valorar la riqueza de las distintas culturas que se encuentran o emergen en la emigración. El objetivo de este trabajo es aproximarse a la realidad emigratoria de la población gallega actual, con el fin de conocer como ha sido su proceso de adaptación al país de destino y determinar qué elementos identitarios y culturales se han transformado o mantenido. A través de las entrevistas realizadas, se constata que hay factores culturales que se tratan de preservar por motivaciones personales o por nostalgia. Entre ellos uno de los más importantes es el idioma, a través del cual se preserva la identidad individual y colectiva de la comunidad gallega emigrada.Migratory movements involve a cultural exchange between people and diverse territorial realities. These flows influence the intangible cultural heritage and the identity of the people who migrate and those who reside in the destination country. In this process, education is one of the most powerful tools to promote the safeguarding of intangible heritage and to contribute to valuing the richness of the different cultures that are found or emerge in emigration. The aim of this work is to approach the emigration reality of the current Galician population, to find out how they have adapted to the destination country and to determine which identity and cultural elements have been transformed or maintained. From the interviews carried out, it was found that there are cultural factors that people try to preserve for personal reasons or out of nostalgia. One of the most important of these is language, through which the individual and collective identity of the Galician emigrant community is preserved.
