Abstract
Coastal edapho-sedimentary deposits are Quaternary accumulation landforms used for paleoenvironmental research. The coast of Galicia (NW Iberian Peninsula) presents a high density of deposits, located in different coastal environments and which, in many cases, appear fossilizing morphologies inherited from the past. In this work, a bibliographic review of paleoenvironmental research is carried out through the study of edaphosedimentary deposits of the Galician coast, differentiating the nature of the facies and their chronological framework (Pleistocene and Holocene). The analysis of the studies allows us to identify the main interpretive tive strengths and weaknesses and evaluate the scientific potential of the deposits as a paleoenvironmental archive.
