La evolución del uso del territorio en Galicia

Abstract

[ESP] En el territorio gallego (NO de España) nos encontramos con un paisaje netamente forestal, comparable al de otros países europeos de amplia tradición forestal. Este aspecto se corrobora con los datos aportados por las actuales estadísticas forestales, que indican que las dos terceras partes del territorio gallego es forestal, siendo el 50% de esta superficie, arbolada y aportando la mitad de la madera cortada anualmente en España. Esta situación es el resultado de profundos cambios acaecidos en el medio rural gallego a lo largo de los últimos 50 años, las actuales superficies forestales albergaban entonces extensos campos de cereal y pasto para diferentes tipos de cabañas ganaderas. Se analizan las transformaciones acaecidas a lo largo de los siglos XIX y XX determinando las claves que han originado la desaparición del aprovechamiento agroganadero del monte, relacionado con aspectos socioeconómicos, y el surgimiento de la actividad forestal como consecuencia directa de la crisis de los anteriores sectores, más que como una apuesta decidida por ésta para la dinamización económica del medio rural. Se lleva a cabo un trabajo prospectivo en el que se apuntan las líneas estratégicas que la actividad forestal en Galicia debe seguir para asentarse definitivamente como actividad económica eficiente.

[ENG] In the Galician territory (NW of Spain) we were with a forest, net comparable landscape to the one of other European countries of ample forest tradition. This aspect is corroborated with the data contributed by the present forest statistics, that they indicate that the two third parts of the Galician territory are forest, being 50% of this surface, hoisted and contributing half of the wood cut annually in Spain. This situation is the result of deep changes happened in Galician rural means throughout last the 50 years, the present forest surfaces lodged then extensive fields of cereal and grass for different types from cattle cabins. The transformations happened throughout centuries XIX and XX are analyzed more determining the keys that have originated the disappearance of the agricultural advantage of the mount, related to socioeconomic aspects, and the sprouting of the forest activity like direct consequence of the crisis of the previous sectors, than like a bet decided by this one for the economic to vitalize of rural means. A prospecting work is carried out in which the strategic lines score that the forest activity in Galicia must follow to be based definitively like efficient economic activity.
