Abstract
Local governments in Spanish cities such as Barcelona are boosting alternative forms of tenure to facilitate housing accessibility. Specifically, Barcelona city council has developed co-living, cohousing, housing cooperatives or provisional proximity housing initiatives as an alternative to home ownership. In this chapter we critically analyze the housing tenure alternatives carried out by Barcelona city council, focusing on its spatial spread in the city.
