Abstract
Food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES) is a non mediated Ig-E hypersensivity reaction to foods. It is clinically characterized by severe and recurrent vomiting 1-6 hours after ingestion, paleness and/or lethargy. A systematic review of the main clinical characteristics, the common signs of the disease and its natural history has been performed. Current scientific evidence, clinical practice guidelines and main scientific societies recommendations have been reviewed for this matter. A case report of an acute FPIES has been included as well
