Policentrismo urbano y ajuste del sistema de ciudades en Galicia

Abstract

El sistema urbano de Galicia constituye un caso interesante para estudiar la evolución y ajuste de un sistema policéntrico de ciudades a la etapa postindustrial, así como su apertura al sistema urbano global. En este estudio partimos de la hipótesis de que las ciudades medias pueden posicionarse como ciudades subglobales mediante procesos de innovación y creatividad, que aportan una ventaja comparativa de competitividad basada en la calidad de vida. También en esto las ciudades gallegas presentan un caso de interés para el estudio de las estrategias urbanas. Se mencionan los diferentes modelos de gestión, de planificación, de creación de redes de ciudades y de instrumentos de marketing urbano y desarrollo regional. The urban system of Galicia constitutes an interesting case to study the evolution and adjustment of a policentric system to the postindustrial stage, as well as its opening to the global urban system. This study we left from the hypothesis that the medium cities can position like subglobal cities by means of processes of innovation and creativity that contribute a comparative advantage of competitiveness based on the quality of life. Also in this, the Galician cities present a case of interest for the study of the urban strategies. The different models from management, planning, creation of networks of cities and instruments of urban marketing and regional development are mentioned.
