Statistical Techniques in Geolinguistics. Onomastic Modeling

Abstract

This research project will be focused on the introduction of new statistical methods for data processing and modeling in geolinguistics, specifically, on surnames in Galicia. The working plan considers two main problems: (i) constructing of surname regions in Galicia and (ii) modeling spatial and spatiotemporal surname patterns in this region.
