De “centros rayeantes”: la lección de Animal de fondo en la obra de José Ángel Valente

Abstract

The aim of this essay is to analyse the traces of Animal de fondo, the poetry collection published by Juan Ramón Jiménez in 1949, in the creative career of José Ángel Valente. Firstly, it will examine the presence of Jiménez in the critical corpus of Valente and, secondly, it will focus on the main poetical lines in which this influence manifests itself. Jiménez’s religious immanence configures a powerful tropological imaginary –centre, god, animal– which can be found throughout Valente's work, but which is especially evident in the collections No amanece el cantor (1992) and Fragmentos de un libro futuro (2000), written from the perspectives of mourning and waiting respectively.

El objetivo del trabajo es desgranar las huellas de Animal de fondo, la colección poética que Juan Ramón Jiménez publica en 1949, en la trayectoria creativa de José Ángel Valente. Se atenderá, en primer lugar, a la presencia del moguereño en el corpus crítico del escritor orensano y, después, a las principales líneas poéticas en las que esta influencia se manifiesta. La inmanencia religiosa de Jiménez configura un poderoso imaginario tropológico -centro, dios, animal- que salpica la obra de Valente, pero que se trasluce especialmente en los poemarios No amanece el cantor (1992) y Fragmentos de un libro futuro (2000), escritos desde el duelo y la espera respectivamente.
