Abstract
Glioblastoma and uveal melanoma are tumors without very high incidence
rate, but they are characterized by being one of the most aggressive tumors with a life expectancy between 6 and
14 months. Their standard treatment is based on surgical resection followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy
triggering several severe side effects. Consequently, the search for new therapeutic approaches is required, where
gene therapy stands out. However, genetic medicines require delivery systems for the protection and transport of
nucleic acids to target cancer cells. In this field, nanomedicine plays an important role to the design of polymeric
non-viral vectors, being very promising in gene therapy. The present work is focused on the development of tunable
gene delivery nanosystems and their evaluation in different advanced preclinical cancer models.
