Abstract
Antisocial behaviour has a multi-casual origin. Explanations from a biological, psychological and sociological point of view were proposed. In a field study the relation between sociodemographic factors (neighborhood, age, gender), and familiar factors (desestructuration, number of members of the family who coexist in the home, number of brothers; parents academic achievement) with antisocial and criminal behaviour was analyzed, in a sample of 441 youngsters. Results indicate more antisocial behaviors in the males, in participants who live in large families, and those that live in more social and cultural depressed neighbourhoods. No effects were found mediate by family disintegration, i.e. separation or divorce. The implications of the results in light to the previous literature are discussed.
