Preservar, describir e identificar comedias sueltas antiguas: incóginita y hallazagos bibliográficos, en Imprenta y literatura española en los siglos XVI y XVII

Abstract

En este trabajo pretendemos abordar las dificultades que plantea la conservación, descripción e identificación de los antiguos cuadernos de teatro españoles, un género editorial desatendido por la crítica y a veces olvidado por bibliotecas o archivos debido a su abrumador número, pero también como consecuencia de los problemas bibliográficos que presenta. En los últimos años, los medios informáticos a nuestro alcance han facilitado la creación de recursos que favorecen la investigación de este grupo de ediciones impresas. Las nuevas herramientas nos han permitido comprender la importancia de este género editorial en el teatro del Siglo de Oro, ya que los cuadernos de teatro conservan a veces primeras ediciones o ediciones únicas en el contexto del patrimonio dramático del siglo XVII.In this paper we intend to address the difficulties raised by the preservation, description and identification of old Spanish theatre chapbooks, a publishing genre neglected by critics and sometimes forgotten by libraries or archives due to its over- whelming number, but also as a consequence of the bibliographic problems it presents. In recent years, the computer resources available to us have made it easier to create resources that promote the research of this group of printed editions. The new tools have allowed us to understand the importance of this editorial genre in the theatre of the Golden Age, since the theatre chapbooks sometimes preserve first or unique editions in the context of the dramatic heritage of the seventeenth century.
