Abstract
This article will address the field recordings made in Galicia around oral tradition music within the phenomenon known as recollidas. Taking as a basis the compilation and phonographic tradition since the 20th century, the recollidas will be defined and their recordings will be characterized, using interviews with people participating in the process that complement the fully academic information. The recollidas had their moment of maximum diffusion in the 90s, when groups linked to urban cultural associations carried out non-specialized field work in different rural areas of the Galician geography to learn about and document aspects related to music and dance of oral tradition. As a result of this process, numerous private archives have been created that contain recordings marked by very limited techniques, methods and resources but that, at the same time, are an interesting element of study that allow access to a socio-musical process practically lost today and, at the same time, observe the transformation in the communicative process of oral transmission. They are therefore products with enormous heritage value that, in addition, have an important weight as didactic elements when taking into account the disappearance of oral transmission as a natural method of dissemination of this music and being the educational context, both in formal and non-formal, the one that collects the witness of its disclosure.
