State of the Question (1972-2022), a cargo de la Asociación Española de Geografía, con motivo del Congreso del Centenario de la Unión Geográfica Internacional, celebrado en París (2022).Academic studies of border issues have undergone considerable growth at the international scale in recent years with the emergence of so-called border studies. In this line of research dedicated to borders and their socio-spatial repercussions, geography clearly has a key role to play. Here, I report a state of the art of Spanish geographical production in the field of border studies. However, given that, by definition, border studies is multidisciplinary, works undertaken in related disciplines are also reported. Finally, Spanish production is examined in relation to the broader international context, with the aim of detecting any possible shortcomings and providing ideas to strengthen research on borders and boundaries.engAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Border studiesSpain54 GeografíaOn borders and boundaries in Spain: A state of the artbook part10.21138/ugi.en.2022.6open access
