"Optica Pura y Aplicada", vol. 5, n. 2, 155-1632171-8814http://hdl.handle.net/10347/17487This work analyzes the use of a single cubic phasemask as a solution to moderate astigmatism of different orientationsand magnitudes. The experimental results with artificial eye show that a cubic phasemask of the 7.07 µm-(Z33-Z3-3) @ 5mm pupillary diameter, can be a solution to the astigmatism up to 3D with different orientations. The logMAR visual acuity obtained for all orientations is close to 0.05 for pupil sizes of 3mm, 5 mm, 7 mm. These results are a good starting point for the development of contact lenses or intraocular lenses that do not require stabilization systems increasing tolerance to errors in the correction of the astigmatism.spaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/AstigmatismNeural transfer function,Cubic phasemaskIntraocular LensesContact LensesVisual acuityAstigmatismoFunción de transferencia neuronalLámina de fase cúbicaLentes intraocularesLentes de contactoAgudeza visualUse of a cubic phase plate as solution for moderate astigmatism : preliminary studyUso de una lámina de fase cúbica como solución a astigmatismos moderados : estudio preliminarjournal article10.7149/OPA.50.2.490140030-3917open access
