However, it should not be forgotten that food production systems have a significant impact on the environment. In this regard, the Life Cycle Assessment is a useful tool. Therefore, the main objective of this thesis is to promote a more sustainable model of food production and consumption based on the improvement of several limitations that have been identified. A series of novel frameworks have been proposed and applied to a series of Galician case studies of the fisheries and dairy sectors. From the results, it is now time to harmonize, through future iterations and refinements, sustainable holistic food systems analysis methodologies based on a life cycle approach.engAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internacionalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Food IndustrySustainable DietsLife Cycle AssessmentCircular EconomyComposite Indicators330899 Otras (impacto ambiental)Embedding Life Cycle Assessment criteria and sustainability indicators of the Fisheries and Dairy Sectors in the framework of the Circular Economy in Galicia (NW Spain)doctoral thesisopen access
