Therefore, the quantification of the virus is crucial to know among other things, the virus replication cycle, to study the level of virulence of new isolates, to evaluate the antiviral activity of chemotherapeutic agents, to monitor the stage and efficiency of a virus purification in industrial processes or simply to evaluate the virulence of a particular viral agent. The purpose of the present study was the evaluation, design and validation of different virus quantification techniques, using pancreatic infectious necrosis virus (IPNV) as a general model. The final objective of the study was, at a later stage, the transfer of the technologies developed in this thesis to the standard protocols of the Aquaculture Institute of Santiago de CompostelaengAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internacionalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/VirologyFlow cytometryqPCRMaterias::Investigación::24 Ciencias de la vida::2415 Biología molecularMaterias::Investigación::24 Ciencias de la vida::2420 Virología::242091 Virología animalNovel procedures of viral quantification: development, optimization and validation of ex vivo and in vivo techniquesdoctoral thesisopen access
