Costs, reference infrastructures, water quality requirements for a further reuse and bibliometric information was collected to assess the current state of based-on-membrane technologies. A compact aerobic approach, combining flocculent and biofilm biomass, treating municipal sewage was proposed. Alternatively, a membrane bioreactor as s polishing step reactors for methanogenic treatments has been also developed. Other approaches were also included, always with a common thread, a filtration membrane.engAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internacionalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/resource recoverywastewater treatmentmembraneanaerobicMaterias::Investigación::33 Ciencias tecnológicas::3308 Ingeniería y tecnología del medio ambiente::330810 Tecnología de aguas residualesMaterias::Investigación::33 Ciencias tecnológicas::3308 Ingeniería y tecnología del medio ambiente::330811 Control de la contaminación del aguaNew strategies for the wastewater treatment with filtration membranesdoctoral thesisopen access
