Likewise, we try to understand and respond to the uncertainty associated with distribution maps due to the quality of the information of heterogeneous occurrence, in order to help interpret the existing results and direct future research towards tools that allow us to generate systematic and consistent areas of distribution. The metrics developed throughout this thesis could be incorporated into online tools that allow researchers and funding agencies to identify priority species to improve information sources and their associated distribution maps.engAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internacionalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/species range mapsSpatial biases and errorsQuality of online biodiversity databaseMaterias::Investigación::31 Ciencias agrarias::3105 Peces y fauna silvestre::310510 Dinámica de las poblacionesMaterias::Investigación::25 Ciencias de la tierra y del espacio::2505 Geografía::250501 BiogeografíaMapping species distribution ranges by means of heterogeneus datadoctoral thesisopen access
