RT Dissertation/Thesis T1 Covalent and Supramolecular Helical Polymers Based on Axially Chiral Allenes A1 Lago Silva, MarĂa K1 Allenes K1 Axial chirality K1 Helical polymers K1 Stimuli-responsive K1 Supramolecular Chemistry AB Molecular switches, supramolecular chemistry, and polymerscan be combined to create stimuli-responsive multi-chiralmaterials. Herein, novel mechanisms to modify the helicalscaffold in helical systems are presented based on axially chiralallenes. The screw sense of the helical system is determined bythe priority of the allenyl substituents that can be altered withrespect to the backbone by external stimuli. Hence, a helixinversion occurs through a novel axial-to-helicalcommunication mechanism, opening a new scenario for tamingthe helices of chiral dynamic helical polymers.
