RT Journal Article T1 Light-Controlled Cellular Internalization and Cytotoxicity of Nucleic Acid-Binding Agents: Studies in Vitro and in Zebrafish Embryos A1 Penas Tallón, Cristina A1 Sánchez López, Mateo Isidro A1 Guerra Varela, Jorge A1 Sánchez Piñón, Laura A1 Vázquez Sentís, Marco Eugenio A1 Mascareñas Cid, José Luis K1 DNA recognition K1 Caged compounds K1 Fluorescent probes K1 Peptides K1 Supramolecular chemistry AB We synthesized octa‐arginine conjugates of DNA‐binding agents (bisbenzamidine, acridine and Thiazole Orange) and demonstrated that their DNA binding and cell internalization can be inhibited by appending a (negatively charged) oligoglutamic tail through a photolabile linker. UV irradiation released the parent conjugates, thus restoring cell internalization and biological activity. Assays with zebrafish embryos demonstrates the potential of this prodrug strategy for controlling in vivo cytotoxicity PB Wiley YR 2016 FD 2016 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10347/18485 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10347/18485 LA eng NO C.
