RT Dissertation/Thesis T1 Analysis of techniques for sustainable and comfortable buildings: a contribution from circular to regenerative economy A1 Vilaboa Díaz, Andrés K1 Sustainable buildings K1 thermal comfort K1 building modeling K1 indoor air quality K1 best available techniques K1 circular economy K1 regenerative economy K1 eco-materials AB Building construction is one of the strategic sectors for the European Unionto achieve a low-carbon economy. This doctoral thesis evaluates the techniques as techniques for a circular andregenerative economy (Best Available Techniques) towards sustainable and comfortable buildings. On the one hand, buildings must guarantee adequate thermal comfort. Techniques related to the improvement ofthe thermal envelope and solar shadow devices are analysed. On the other hand, adequate indoor air quality mustalso be guaranteed, so a review of f both the current hazards in buildings and the techniques to maintain air qualityat healthy values is carried out. Regenerative techniques are considered by the evaluation of the building behaviourwhen wastes are use as construction materials.
