RT Journal Article T1 Insight into particle production mechanisms via angular correlations of identified particles in pp collisions at √s=7 TeV A1 ALICE Collaboration, A1 González Ferreiro, Elena AB Two-particle angular correlations were measuredin pp collisions at√s = 7 TeV for pions, kaons, protons, and lambdas, for all particle/anti-particle combinationsin the pair. Data for mesons exhibit an expected peak dominatedby effects associated with mini-jets and are well reproducedby general purposeMonte Carlo generators. However, for baryon–baryon and anti-baryon–anti-baryon pairs, whereboth particles have the same baryon number, a near-side anticorrelationstructure is observed instead of a peak. This effectis interpreted in the context of baryon production mechanismsin the fragmentation process. It currently presents achallenge to Monte Carlo models and its origin remains anopen question.
